What is the ruling on income earned through experience based on a forged academic certificate (a secondary certificate that is originally a preparatory one), bearing in mind that the employee performs his work proficiently and cannot inform his employer for fear of dismissal, and there is difficulty in finding another job or returning to his country?

It is not permissible for a Muslim to forge anything for himself or for others in order to obtain money or a position, due to the forbidden deception and lying involved. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever cheats is not from me," and Allah Almighty says: "O you who have believed, fear Allah and be with the truthful." Repentance to Allah Almighty is obligatory, by feeling remorse and resolving not to return to it. It is permissible to continue working if the work is performed as required, without informing the employer, to avert harm, for the rule is: "There shall be no harm or reciprocating harm."
