Is it permissible to file a lawsuit against an unjust father who withholds financial support and prevents marriage, in order to claim one's rights?

A well-off father must spend on his poor children, and he sins if he neglects to do so, for the Prophet ﷺ said: "It is enough sin for a man to neglect those whom he supports." This expenditure is obligatory even after the son reaches maturity if he is unemployed and has no money; this is a unique ruling of the Hanbali school of thought. The obligatory expenditure includes marrying off an incapable son or daughter. If the father refuses to provide for them, it is permissible to take from his wealth in a reasonable manner or to sue him. If the father refuses to marry off his daughter to a suitable suitor whom she accepts, he is deemed to be preventing her marriage, and guardianship then transfers to the next guardian or to the judge to marry her off.
