Is it permissible to dispose of stray camels whose owner is unknown and which bear no brand, especially the males among them that cause problems, and to benefit from them?

It is not permissible to take lost camels to protect them from small predators, except in exceptional circumstances: such as the Imam taking them for their preservation, or fearing for them from thieves, or if their owner is known, or if there is concern for their perishment. The taking must be with the intention of preserving them for their owner and publicly announcing them for a period of one year.
