Is it permissible to dispose of stray camels whose owner is unknown and which were found without a brand after years of being left in the desert?

Camels are either owned and branded, in which case they are treated like stray animals. Or they are not owned, like wild camels, in which case it is permissible to take them, as they are considered lawful game, based on the Almighty's saying: "Lawful to you is game from the sea and its food as provision for you and for travelers, and forbidden to you is game from the land as long as you are in the state of ihram. And fear Allah to whom you will be gathered."
