Is it permissible to buy furniture for the orphans' home from their own money, and how is that money divided among them while they are young?

The guardian of orphans spends on them what they need from their money, in a reasonable manner, including furniture if the need arises, without extravagance or stinginess. This is in accordance with the Almighty’s saying: "And do not make your hand shackled to your neck, nor extend it completely, lest you sit criticized and regretful." Al-Shafi'i stated that the guardian should spend from the orphan's money everything that the orphan needs and cannot do without. The division of furniture and other items should be equal if their wealth is such. However, if there is a disparity in their wealth or needs, then the property of each must be distinguished, and what each needs should be purchased from their own money to prevent harm.
