Will a repentant sinner be held accountable for his past deeds, and will he be held accountable for the major sins he committed before his repentance?

Sincere repentance erases what came before it, and the one who repents from sin is like one who has no sin. Allah accepts repentance from His servants and pardons evil deeds, and He forgives all sins. If a disobedient person repents with sincere repentance, their evil deeds are transformed into good deeds by the grace of Allah. Moderately remembering death is a healthy phenomenon and a prophetic recommendation, but it should not lead to despair or distract from performing good deeds. The true believer combines fear and hope.
