Is it permissible to delay prayer to avoid delaying the bus and passengers, knowing that such a delay is often acceptable and may lead to missing the time for the next prayer?

If you are able to perform the prayer on time with a slight, acceptable delay within your work system that does not result in harm, then this is what is obligatory. However, if the delay is unacceptable or causes harm, you may combine the two prayers (Dhuhr and Asr, or Maghrib and Isha) either by advancing the later prayer or delaying the earlier one. If all of this is not possible, then performing the prayer on time is among the most obligatory duties, and you must seek another job where you can perform the prayer at its designated time, based on the Almighty’s saying: "So establish prayer. Indeed, prayer has been decreed upon the believers a decree of specified times," and His saying: "So woe to those who pray, [but] who are heedless of their prayer."
