Is it permissible to delay a prayer beyond its prescribed time due to work pressure, and perform it immediately after finishing work? And is it permissible to perform the 'Asr prayer on the bus while returning home?

Prayer is the greatest pillar of Islam after the Two Testimonies of Faith. It is not permissible to delay it beyond its legally prescribed time without a legitimate excuse, as Allah Almighty says: "So woe to those who pray, [But] who are heedless of their prayer." [Al-Ma'un: 4-5]. Excessive work is not a legitimate excuse for delaying prayer. The questioner can perform the prayer at her workplace. If the employer prevents her from praying, she should seek another job that does not conflict with the worship and obedience of Allah.
