What is the ruling on missing the Dhuhr prayer due to work, and suffice with performing the Asr prayer on time?

Delaying prayer beyond its prescribed time is one of the major sins, as stated in His Almighty's sayings: "So woe to those who pray, [but] who are heedless of their prayer" and "Then succeeded them a generation who neglected prayers and pursued passions; so they are going to meet evil." Whoever delays it must repent and make it up. Being preoccupied with work is not an excuse, for sustenance is in Allah's hands. A Muslim must prioritize prayer, as described in the characteristics of the believers: "Men whom neither commerce nor sale diverts from the remembrance of Allah and performance of prayer." Whoever fears Allah, He will provide for them from where they do not expect. If work prevents one from performing prayer on time, it must be changed, for "no soul will die until it has received its full provision and its appointed term," and "Indeed, you will not abandon anything for the sake of Allah except that Allah will replace it with something better."
