Is it permissible to delay a prayer beyond its prescribed time in order to perform work tasks, given that work is considered an act of worship?

Delaying prayer beyond its prescribed time without a legitimate Shar'i excuse is a major sin, as stated in the Almighty's words: "So woe to those who pray, [But] who are heedless of their prayer" (Quran 107:4-5), and His saying: "Then, there succeeded them a posterity who neglected prayers and pursued desires; so they are going to meet evil" (Quran 19:59). Work is not a legitimate Shar'i excuse for delaying prayer beyond its time. The Muslim woman must repent to Allah and perform prayer at its proper time, for prayer is the second pillar of Islam, and no other action should take precedence over it except with a legitimate Shar'i justification. She will find blessings in her work and sustenance, for "And enjoin prayer upon your family [and people] and be steadfast therein. We ask you not for provision; We provide for you" (Quran 20:132).
