What is the meaning of the noble verse: "Has there not come upon man a period of time"?

A summary of the exegesis of the verse: "Has there not come upon man a period of time when he was not a thing to be mentioned?"

"Has there not" (هل) here means "Indeed" (قد). And "man" (الإنسان) here refers to Adam, peace be upon him.

"A period of time" (حين من الدهر): It is said to be forty years before the soul was breathed into him, and it is also said that its duration is unknown.

"He was not a thing to be mentioned" (لم يكن شيئاً مذكوراً): Meaning, he had no existence to be mentioned in the heavens or on earth, or he was a formed body of dust and clay, unknown and unmentioned, then the soul was breathed into him and he became mentioned. It is also said that he was not a thing to be mentioned among creation, even though he was a thing to be mentioned with Allah.

The general meaning of the verse: Indeed, a time came upon man when he had no status or position among creation. Then, when Allah informed the angels that He had appointed him as a caliph and entrusted him with the 'Amanah' (trust), his superiority over all became apparent, and he became mentioned.
