Is it true that the absence of the Basmala at the beginning of Surat Al-Tawbah, and its being, along with Al-Anfal, "one single story," indicates that Surat Al-Hadid is number 56 (the atomic weight of iron), and that if the Basmala were an verse in every surah, it would be verse 26 (the atomic number of iron)? And do these numbers represent a scientific miracle, similar to Allah's saying: "And the heaven We constructed with strength, and indeed We are [its] expander"?

Scholars have differed on the reason for omitting the Basmala at the beginning of Surat At-Tawbah, presenting five opinions: its revelation without the Basmala, following the Arab custom when abrogating covenants; the statement of Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him), which is considered the soundest opinion; that it was like Al-Baqarah and its beginning was abrogated; the disagreement among the Companions as to whether it was one surah or two, thus it was separated by a space without the Basmala; and the statement of Ali ibn Abi Talib that it is a security, and the declaration of disavowal (Bara'ah) was revealed with the sword. As for the Basmala being a verse of every surah, the Hanafi, Maliki, Awza'i, and Hanbali schools hold that it is not a verse at the beginning of surahs, whereas the Shafi'i school holds the opposite view.
