As for a promise to give a specific name, it is not binding, and it is permissible not to fulfill it for a greater benefit, with no sin incurred thereby. It is permissible to call the child by one name and write another, as this is a good suggestion that reconciles interests, and jurists have stipulated the permissibility of having more than one name.
