Is sounding an alarm-like noise before the Adhan to inform people in India and Pakistan of the time for breaking the fast considered an innovation (bid‘ah)?

There is no objection to using the iftar cannon due to people's need for it, especially in large cities where the adhan may not be heard. It is a pure benefit with no harm in it. However, it is necessary to verify that the sun has completely set before firing it.
