The answer

Drums and musical instruments are not permitted for informing people about the entry of prayer times, because that is a forbidden innovation (bid'ah muharramah). The legitimate call to prayer ( shari'i) is sufficient. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever introduces into this matter of ours that which is not from it, it is rejected," and "Beware of newly invented matters, for every innovation is misguidance." The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, rejected the trumpet and the bell for informing people about prayer, considering them to be from the affairs of the Jews and Christians, and legislated the adhan in their stead.
