Am I entitled to custody of my children—a 4-year-old girl and a 3-year-old boy—despite my shortcomings in prayer?

Belittling prayer is an act of defiance (fisq) and a disqualifier for custody according to the majority of scholars. Some scholars even consider one who abandons prayer to be a disbeliever. Setting aside the issue of custody, maintaining prayer is an obligation, for it is the greatest pillar of the religion after faith.
