What is the ruling on the fast of one who broke it on a plane upon seeing the sun, after the flight attendant announced the time for breaking the fast according to the departure time zone?

The scholars are in agreement that fasting is from the rising of dawn until the setting of the sun, based on the Almighty's saying: (And eat and drink until the white thread of dawn becomes distinct to you from the black thread [of night]. Then complete the fast until the night) [Quran 2:187], and the Prophet’s (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: “When the night approaches from this side [east], and the day retreats from that side [west], and the sun has set, then the fasting person breaks his fast.” Each fasting person is subject to the ruling of the place he is in. So, whoever breaks his fast on an airplane before the sun sets for him, his fast is invalid and he must make up that day.
