Is it permissible to seek divorce from a husband who despises Abu Bakr and Umar, mistreats, and beats, knowing that he is one of the people of innovation (Ahl al-Bid'ah)?

A Muslim woman must separate from her husband if he insults the two Shaykhs, Abu Bakr and Umar—may Allah be pleased with them—and curses them, or believes them to be disbelievers, or holds any other apostatizing belief, such as the distortion of the Quran. Remaining married to him under these circumstances is impermissible, and the marriage becomes nullified for this reason. There is no blame upon her if she was unaware of his condition when she married him, or if this belief emerged in him later. She must separate from him, even if it means ransoming herself with money.
