How can a husband take back his wife whom he has divorced with a single, revocable pronouncement, and what is the solution if her family prevents her from returning to the marital home?

It is the husband's right to take back his wife divorced with a revocable divorce before her waiting period (iddah) expires. Neither the wife nor her family has the right to refuse this, as Allah Almighty says: "And their husbands have a greater right to take them back in that [period] if they want reconciliation." The family must not instigate the wife against her husband. It is preferable to reach an understanding and involve people of wisdom in the reconciliation process. If that does not work, then resort to Islamic law and the judiciary. However, if the waiting period expires, reconciliation is not permissible except with a new contract and dowry, and with the consent of the wife and her guardian.
