Does the inability to fully grasp the meaning of the Hadith: "None of you truly believes until he wishes for his brother what he wishes for himself," due to feelings of resentment towards those who have wronged the sister, indicate Allah's displeasure with the servant, and that their prayers and fasting have been in vain? And what is the way to remove this resentment and attain inner peace?

Rejoicing at the misfortune of Muslims and gloating over their calamities is impermissible, contrary to noble ethics, and not characteristic of perfect faith. This act does not remove its doer from the fold of faith, as it is among its imperfections, not its negations. The Prophet's saying, peace and blessings be upon him, "None of you truly believes until he loves for his brother what he loves for himself," negates the perfection of faith, not faith itself. A Muslim must strive to accustom himself to the characteristic of forgiveness and clemency. Among the remedies for these ailments are supplication to Allah and regularly fasting three days each month, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Shall I not tell you what removes rancor from the chest? Fasting three days of every month."
