What is the ruling on using a bathroom and bathtub in which frankincense has been burned and in which one has bathed with saffron water upon which ruqyah has been recited? Is it considered Quran? Does this act or the removal of impurities in it necessitate disbelief, knowing that it is the only available bathroom? Is it considered unlawful to dispose of burnt paper and frankincense upon which Quran has been recited in the bathtub and toilet after burning?

Water upon which the Qur’an has been recited is not the Qur’an itself, but it must be protected from impurities out of reverence for the word of Allah. One who intentionally takes it into the toilet does not disbelieve unless he intends to debase the word of Allah. It is better not to take this water into bathrooms and to use it in a pure place. However, it is permissible to take it into the bathroom if there is a necessity.

As for fumigating with incense or burning papers upon which Qur’anic verses are written, this is not known in the Sunnah, and it is mostly an act of sorcerers. Burning incense or papers in the bathroom does not prevent its use.
