Sowing discord among Muslims and corrupting their relationships are grave sins. Whoever commits such acts deserves otherworldly punishment from Allah and worldly disciplinary punishment (ta'zeer) from the judge.

The sister who was harmed by this discord can take the matter to court or to someone who can give her justice. She can also explain to the suitor the woman's lies and malicious intent. She must stop talking to or meeting the suitor because he remains a stranger to her until the marriage contract is concluded.
