The question

What is your guidance regarding the ongoing problem between the fiancé's family and the fiancée's family, which may lead to the annulment of the contract, especially since the origin of the problem was the fiancée's maternal aunt's interference in previous disagreements, and the matter escalated to a misunderstanding and an exchange of hurtful words between the fiancée's maternal aunt and the fiancé's paternal aunt, which led to the fiancée's family demanding an apology from the fiancé's family and cutting ties with them? And should the fiancé or the fiancée's family initiate a visit to resolve the dispute?

The answer

It is not permissible for a Muslim to abandon his brother for more than three nights, and whoever abandons his brother is deprived of God's forgiveness. It is incumbent upon family and in-laws to reconcile and visit each other, and the best among them is he who initiates it. As for him who forgives and reconciles, his reward is with God. As for the annulment of the marriage contract, it is not within the authority of the wife's family after its completion, because she has become a wife. It is advisable not to inform the family of marital problems, as this only worsens them.
