What is the ruling on a man divorcing his wife, preferring his mother over her, and constantly threatening to expel her and her daughter from the house?

If the husband wishes to honor his mother by installing an air conditioner in her room, the wife should not object. And if the mother does not desire it, it is more appropriate that the words come from her. What issues from the husband in terms of threatening expulsion, divorce, or provoking the wife, is not befitting and contradicts good companionship. The wife should exercise wisdom in dealing with him. If the divorce is not the third, he has the right to take her back as long as she is within her waiting period ('iddah). And his statement, "You are my wife," is an implicit expression through which a revocable return (raj'ah) is valid if he intended it.
