Is the initial reaction, represented by crying, disbelief, and not immediately saying "إنا لله وإنا إليه راجعون" (Indeed we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we shall return), considered a sin that warrants punishment from Allah, and prevents its owner from being counted among the patient?

The most complete form of patience is that which occurs at the first shock, and its meaning is perfect patience that results in great reward.

As for what happened concerning the denial of the news, followed by the immediate praise of Allah and recitation of "Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un" (Indeed we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we will return), we hope that this will not deprive one of the reward of the patient, because it was a natural reaction born of astonishment and the enormity of the matter, not a sign of displeasure with divine decree. Similar reactions occurred among a group of companions upon the death of the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him.
