What is the ruling on transparent and form-fitting clothing between spouses?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

The basic principle is that a woman should adorn herself for her husband, and he for her, with permissible clothing and perfume. It is permissible for spouses to wear clothes that reveal the 'awrah to each other. Therefore, a wife may wear short, transparent, and tight clothes for her husband, and likewise, a husband for his wife, as long as this is only between them, while observing other Shariah rulings related to spouses' clothing, such as a man avoiding trailing his garment, and avoiding silk and saffron for men, and not imitating disbelievers or the opposite gender.
