Is marriage without a wedding party in a theater permissible or forbidden?

The majority of scholars have deemed it desirable to publicize and announce a marriage through any permissible means, such as providing food, the presence of a group of people, or playing the duff (a type of drum). This is based on the Prophet Muhammad's (peace be upon him) sayings: "Announce the marriage," and "The distinction between lawful and unlawful is the duff and the voice in marriage." If the wedding celebration includes gathering, playing the duff, and permissible singing, without intermingling between men and women, and with women adhering to hijab and modesty, then there is no harm in it, as long as it does not involve anything unlawful or extravagant. However, if there is intermingling, or the bride sitting on a platform where non-mahram men can see her, or unlawful musical instruments and singing, then that is forbidden. The marriage is not harmed by the absence of a celebration, provided that its conditions for validity are met, such as the presence of a guardian and witnesses.
