How can a woman protect herself and her family from envy (hasad) and the evil eye (ayn), especially given negative comments from relatives about their free treatment and her fears of its impact on her husband and children, and what should she do about these relatives?

The words of your mother and sisters should be interpreted in the best possible light, and advice should be offered to them with gentleness and kindness, for "Religion is counsel." This should not be an opening for Satan to corrupt relationships. If it is highly probable that the children have been afflicted by the evil eye, they must be treated with ruqyah using the Book of Allah and Prophetic supplications. Patience in affliction expiates sins, for "Calamity continues to afflict a believing man or woman in their body, wealth, and children until they meet Allah with no sins upon them." One should rely on Allah and believe in divine decree and destiny, for everything is in His hands, and sustenance is solely in the hand of Allah.
