The majority of scholars hold that the emission of mani (sperm/seminal fluid) or madhi (pre-seminal fluid) due to mere thought does not affect the validity of the fast. Consequently, the fast of the sister in question is, according to the preponderant opinion, valid, and no expiation is incumbent upon her. She should, however, refrain from anything that arouses lust, especially during fasting and prayer. If madhi or mani is emitted during prayer due to such thoughts, the prayer becomes invalid. Ghusl (ritual bath) is required for the emission of mani, while madhi invalidates ablution (wudu) and is impure (najis).
