Is it permissible for a husband and wife to engage in intercourse on their wedding night, and if so, how many times is a husband allowed to have intercourse with his wife; is it once a week, more, or less?

It is permissible for spouses to engage in intercourse on the first night if they wish. There is no text in Sharia that specifies a certain number of times for intercourse, due to the variation in circumstances and individuals. Intercourse is a right for the wife and an obligation upon her husband, unless he has an excuse, as stated by Ibn Qudama al-Hanbali and Malik. Likewise, the husband should not exert himself excessively in worship so as not to weaken in fulfilling his wife's right. For this reason, the Prophet, peace be upon him, said to Abdullah ibn Amr: "Indeed, your body has a right over you, and your eyes have a right over you, and your wife has a right over you." It is the wife's right that her husband spends a night with her once every four nights, unless he has an excuse. The husband must have intercourse with his wife to the extent that suffices her, as long as it does not exhaust his body or distract him from his livelihood. The goal of this is to protect the wife from immorality. This is not limited to a specific duration, but rather to the extent that suffices her and to the husband's capacity. If the husband is absent due to a lawful journey, his absence from his wife should not be prolonged, especially in jihad, where Umar ibn al-Khattab set the period of soldiers' absence from their wives at four months.
