Is it permissible to gift a copy of the Noble Qur’an or an audiotape of Qur’an recitation to Christians for listening?

It is not permissible to gift a copy of the Qur’an (Mus'haf) to a Christian, because he is a disbeliever and due to his impurity.

As for a tape, its ruling is less strict because it does not contain Quranic writing, yet it holds the sanctity of the Qur’an itself.

If it is known that the Christian will use the tape and will not tamper with it, then there is no harm in gifting it to him for listening to the word of Allah.

However, if there is a fear of him dishonoring the tape, then it is not permissible to gift it to him, because dishonor is the reason for the prohibition.
