Did Allah forbid men from wearing all metals except silver, and what is the reason for prohibiting gold for them, and how did the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, permit a Companion to have a nose made of gold, and another to wear the golden bracelets of Chosroes?

It is permissible for men to wear rings made of all metals except gold, and it is permissible to wear iron. As for gold, it is forbidden for men except in cases of necessity and treatment, like the story of Arfaja bin Sa'd. The story of Suraqa and the bracelets of Kisra does not indicate the permissibility of wearing gold for men; rather, it is an account of a prophetic miracle. The ruling on wearing gold for men was abrogated after it was permissible at the beginning of Islam, and it became forbidden except when necessary or for medical treatment.
