Is it permissible for a woman who lives with her maternal cousin's son to uncover her hands, even though she does not always perform household chores that require it?

We have not come across the fatwa attributed to Sheikh Ibn Uthaymeen. What is known about him is that he rules on the obligation for a woman to cover her entire body from non-mahram men, including the husband's relatives.

The prevalent ruling for us is the obligation for a woman to cover her face and hands when there is no fear of temptation (fitna). Therefore, it is not permissible to show the hands in front of a maternal cousin or other non-mahram men. However, according to the view that permits uncovering the hands, there is no objection if there is no fear of temptation.

As for a wife living with her husband's brothers or other non-mahram men in a single dwelling with shared facilities, it is forbidden due to the exposure to seclusion (khalwa), mixing, and unlawful looking, because the eye cannot be restrained once it is let loose.
