Obeying the husband in what is good takes precedence over obeying parents when there is a conflict. However, it is not permissible to obey him in disobedience, so he does not have the right to order his wife to sever ties with her relatives. Maintaining kinship ties is not limited to visiting and going out. If the husband prevents his wife from maintaining ties with her relatives through greetings, speech, or gifts, then she may disobey him. As for going out to visit parents, scholars have differed on its ruling, and he may prevent her from going out to visit anyone other than her parents.
