A wife's obedience to her husband takes precedence over obedience to anyone else, even her parents. It is not permissible for her to leave his house except with his permission, nor is she obligated to obey her husband's parents. The most she can do is fulfill their desires in a reasonable manner and within her capacity, without conflicting with her obedience to her husband. The husband must protect his wife from conflict with his family, and it is preferable that they have their own separate residence.
