Is it permissible to set a computer background with a natural scene that includes a Quranic verse relevant to the scene, such as a picture of a waterfall with the verse, "{And We placed therein firm, towering mountains, and We gave you to drink sweet water}"?

The fundamentals of Sharia necessitate the preservation of everything connected to religion. Scholars have explicitly stated the prohibition of entering a bathroom or places of impurity with anything written upon it from the Qur'an. They have also emphasized the obligation to pick up any written material found thrown in the street and to preserve it, out of concern that it might contain the name of Allah, a verse, a hadith, or anything related to religion. There is no harm in writing a verse for the purpose inquired about, or for any other purpose, as long as it does not contradict veneration and does not involve desecration.
