Does a divorce occur by saying "you are divorced" many times, or by threatening with "divorce be upon me"?

Anger usually does not prevent the occurrence of divorce, because it often causes it. However, scholars have stated that the divorce of an angry person does not take effect if their anger reaches the point of losing consciousness, perception, and control over their actions, by analogy with someone who is coerced or insane, based on the Prophet Muhammad's (peace be upon him) saying: "There is no divorce and no freeing of slaves in a state of 'ighlaq' (mental blackout or extreme compulsion)."

Therefore, if you divorced your wife three separate times and were aware of what you were saying, she has become irrevocably divorced from you (baynunah kubra), and she is not lawful for you until she marries another husband and he consummates the marriage with her in a proper way, not with the intention of making her lawful for you, and then divorces her. It is advisable to present the matter to a Sharia judge for a ruling.
