What is the ruling on a severed limb from a Muslim's body, and is it to be buried in Muslim cemeteries?

An amputated limb is buried as part of a human being. If the death of its owner is confirmed and he has not been found, a funeral prayer is performed over the limb. However, if its owner is alive, it is buried in the Muslim cemeteries without a funeral prayer.
