What is the ruling on following the recitation of the Qur’an in Islamic forums and writing down the parts that have been recited?

Following recitations by reciters via forums, satellite channels, or tapes is a good step for learning recitation, but it is not enough to correct one's reading. Rather, it must be completed by listening to and reciting before a specialized shaykh to ensure its correctness.
