What is the ruling on a worshipper reciting the Quran using the narrations he learned from tapes, and not directly from shaykhs?

The recitation in prayer must be correct, especially Al-Fatihah. There is no harm in reciting from tapes if the recitation is correct. However, relying solely on tapes is not enough to learn correct recitation. Rather, direct reception from experts is necessary, for Allah willed that recitation be learned through direct reception, as He says: "So when We have recited it, then follow its recitation." The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, used to listen to his companions and recite to them orally.
