Is it permissible to take out a loan with interest from a bank to purchase a house, in order to benefit from the lower price offered for immediate payment?
It is permissible to borrow from Islamic banks if the financing transaction is legitimate. However, it is not permissible to borrow from interest-based (riba) banks, due to Allah's saying: "O you who have believed, fear Allah and give up what remains [due to you] of riba if you should be believers. And if you do not, then be informed of a war [against you] from Allah and His Messenger. But if you repent, you may have your principal - [thus] you do no wrong, nor are you wronged" (Quran 2:278-279). And due to the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) cursed the one who consumes riba, the one who feeds it, its scribe, and its two witnesses," and he said: "They are all equal." Interest-based loans are to be replaced by the legitimate alternatives provided by Islamic banks, such as Murabaha, Tawarruq, and Istisna' contracts.
