"Qur'an al-Fajr al-Mashhud" (the witnessed dawn recitation) refers to the recitation during prayer. Its being "witnessed" means that the angels of the night and day witness it. This indicates the greatness of recitation in prayer and that it is one of its most significant pillars. What is meant by it is the Fajr prayer. It is sunnah (definition) for the worshipper to be keen on following the Sunnah of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, in recitation, such as his recitation on Friday in the Fajr prayer with the entirety of Surat As-Sajdah and Surat Al-Insan.
