What is the explanation of honoring one's parents?

Righteousness towards parents is one of the greatest acts of obedience and most beloved to Allah. Allah and His Messenger have enjoined it, and it means being good to them in word and deed, treating them well, and obeying them in what is right and does not involve disobedience to Allah.
