There is no general ruling on the authenticity or weakness of the hadiths related to the mentioned phrases; rather, some of them are authentic and some are weak. These dhikr (remembrances) expiate minor sins, not major ones. Minor sins can become major sins through persistence in them or through treating them lightly. There is no major sin with repentance, and no minor sin with persistence. Persistence is the repetition of a minor sin, which indicates a lack of concern for religion. The great reward for dhikr does not encourage indulgence in disobedience; rather, it is an increase in good deeds. As for dhikr restricted to specific numbers, one must adhere to them to attain the merit associated with them, while increasing beyond them remains a matter of scholarly disagreement.
