What is the authenticity of the story of Zayd ibn Sa'nah, the Jew who tested the Prophet, may Allah's prayers and peace be upon him, regarding his religion, and then embraced Islam?

The narration about the story of Zayd ibn Sa’nah’s conversion to Islam has a weak chain of transmission (isnaad), and it is flawed due to the unknown status (jahaalah) of Hamzah ibn Yusuf ibn Abdullah ibn Salam, and due to the leveling dissimulation (tadlis al-taswiyah) by Al-Waleed ibn Muslim. Furthermore, there is an anomaly (nakarah) in the text of the hadith (definition), especially the part stating that Zayd died in the Battle of Tabuk, advancing and not retreating, while there was no fighting in that expedition.
