Is it permissible not to have the call to prayer (adhan) in the mosque due to the absence of a regular muezzin, and to suffice with the adhan of one of the worshippers?

The Adhan (call to prayer) should not be abandoned in the mosque due to the absence of a regular Muezzin (caller to prayer), because the Adhan is a communal obligation (Fard Kifayah). If no one fulfills this obligation, everyone incurs sin. This is especially true if there are no other mosques nearby where the Adhan is called. The Prophet (peace be upon him) commanded the Adhan and the Iqamah (second call to prayer). Therefore, efforts must be made to find a Muezzin for the mosque, whether by assigning someone specifically for the Adhan for a fee, or by having the worshippers take turns, especially in Western countries, to preserve the outward rituals of Islam.
