Is expelling a sister who causes problems and insults from the home considered a severing of kinship ties, and is this action acceptable?

Maintaining kinship ties is obligatory, and severing them is forbidden. Strife among Muslims is prohibited. If you expel your sister to prevent her harm, there is no sin upon you. However, if it was without a valid reason, you have done wrong and must repent. You should maintain ties with your sister to the extent that it does not harm you, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, commanded us to maintain kinship ties even with those who sever them: "The one who maintains ties is not the one who reciprocates, but the one who maintains ties is he who, when his kinship ties are severed, reconnects them."
