How sound is the dream vision seen by the Sufi shaykh after his repentance, and does it have a specific interpretation?
One must adhere to the methodology of the Saved Sect and the Victorious Group (Ahl al-Sunnah wal-Jama'ah), about whom the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "They are those who are upon what I and my Companions are upon today." It is recommended to study books on the methodology of the Salaf in creed and conduct, and to dedicate time to reciting and pondering the Qur'an, as well as reading books of Tafsir (exegesis) and Hadith and their commentaries. When there is a difference concerning an issue, one should make the prophetic supplication: "O Allah, Lord of Jibreel, Mika'eel, and Israfeel; Creator of the heavens and the earth, Knower of the unseen and the seen, You judge between Your servants concerning that wherein they differ; guide me to the truth concerning that wherein they differed by Your permission, for verily You guide whom You will to a straight path." Then, one should ask trustworthy scholars. Seeking knowledge, teaching it, and calling to Allah are among the greatest causes of steadfastness upon truth and uprightness. As for Sufis, they are not all the same, and a detailed discussion about them can be found in other fatwas.
