Therefore, continue to advise them kindly, seeking help from righteous people, and supplicating extensively for them. If a disobedient person does not benefit from advice, then boycotting (hajjr) is permissible, provided that a legitimate شرعية benefit is observed. Helping your mother with housework is an act of dutifulness (birr), so help her according to your ability to gain her رضا and to reform her.
