Is it necessary to say "the month of Ramadan" instead of "Ramadan"?

It is not obligatory to say "the month of "; rather, it is permissible to say "Ramadan" or "the month of Ramadan." Both are permissible, and it has been narrated that the Prophet (peace be upon him) used both terms.
